Spot Admissions for UG Programmes, 2026 shall be conducted from 15 June to 17 June, 2026 by the participating Higher Educational Institutions through the Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal against the institution-wise (discipline-wise/programme-wise) vacancies published on the admission portal.
In this regard, the following guidelines are hereby notified for information and compliance by all concerned.
1. Mandatory Registration on the Admission Portal
Participation in the Spot Admission process shall be subject to the applicant being duly registered on the Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal.
- Applicants who have already registered on the admission portal and possess a valid Registration Number are not required to register again.
- Applicants who have not yet registered may complete their registration from 13 June, 2026 up to 17 June, 2026 (4:00 P.M.) prior to participating in the Spot Admission process.
2. Institution-Specific Spot Admission Policy
- Participating Higher Educational Institutions may formulate and adopt institution-specific policies for conducting Spot Admissions, provided that such policies remain consistent with the overarching admission principles and guidelines.
- Institutions are advised to ensure that the published guidelines are comprehensive, unambiguous, and easily accessible so as to enable applicants to make informed decisions regarding their participation in the Spot Admission process.
- Applicants who receive a new admission offer during Spot Admission in an institution or programme–discipline combination of their preference are advised to carefully evaluate their options before proceeding with cancellation of any existing admission.
Important Advisory for Applicants
Candidates who are already admitted through the First Merit List or Second Merit List and wish to participate in Spot Admission are advised to ensure that admission in their preferred institution or programme–discipline combination is likely before cancelling their existing admission.
Cancellation of an existing admission is irrevocable. Once an admission is cancelled, it cannot be restored under any circumstances, and the vacated seat shall immediately become available for allotment to another eligible applicant.
